Appearance: Light straw. Nose: Fresh pears, honey. Taste Profile: Unoaked, wet rock minerality, lemongrass. Finish: Clean, flinty. The 2020 Chardonnay is a great example of the stellar growing conditions in that year. Hot and sunny, with favorable weather all season, it was a wonderful vintage. Desired style was unoaked and mineral driven, light and fruity, a pure expression of the grape. Fruit sourced entirely from our Avonport Vineyard. After 4 years in the ground, this was the first harvest from these grapes. Gently pressed and fermented long and slow at very low temperatures. 100% stainless steel fermentation expresses minerality, freshness, and an apple and pear forward character. No malolactic fermentation was used.
